2 November 2020 Update: The planning permit had received an objection which has now been lodged with VCAT.

29 July 2020 Update: We advise that there have been some unforeseen delays at the planning permit stage.  This has meant an adjustment to the previously advertised time line.  We will endeavour to be in touch with all those who submitted their EOI and that there is no change to the process, just the timeline.  As soon as we know more there will be a message posted here, a post on the Rec Reserve FB page or individual emails going out.

Officer Rec Reserve Committee. 

In conjunction with the Cardinia Shire Council, the Officer Recreation Reserve Committee will be responsible for building new Community Social Rooms at the Starling Road Reserve.  These new rooms will be an extension to the existing pavilion on the Eastern Oval at Starling Road.

The process has been a long one to get this far with a tender for the construction works to be released soon with a Commercial Builder to be subsequently appointed to run the project.

One of the Rec Reserve Committee’s major objectives for this project is that they want to include (where possible) current and past players, members, sponsors and families of the sporting and community groups in the project by having them contributing their knowledge, skills, expertise and time.  This will make the building a true joint community project.

We are seeking a variety of trades to join us, including (but not limited to): Electricians, Plumbers, Plasterers, Joiners, Carpenters, Painters, Glaziers, Bricklayers, Concreters, Earthmoving Contractors, HVAC installers, Landscaper Gardeners and Cabinetmakers.

There also may be businesses that are Club sponsors or owned/operated by Club members that would like to be involved by being preferred suppliers of goods – for example Timber Merchants, Electrical Wholesalers, Plumbing Suppliers, etc.  We would like to hear from you as well.

By filling in the electronic form below, your details will be added into the tender documents for the tendering builders to involve as a “Preferred Trade to Use”.  Builders who are choosing to respond will contact you themselves, providing you with a project pack and give you time to build your quote for materials and labour which they will add into their tender response.

Important Information about the Process and the Project

• Your business (or your business connection) will be a sub contractor to the builder.  When the time comes, all the necessary protocols (qualifications, insurances, etc) will be required and organised directly with the builder;
• Once you have received the pack from the tenderer, you might find that based on the requirements, size, scale and timelines required – you may not wish to respond (and that’s OK);
• The respondent may elect not to include you/your quote in their submission (as they may have multiple interested parties for the same trade or elect to use their own).  There is a weighting inside the tender for the use of our “Preferred Trades” so it would make sense for them to include our Preferred Trades where possible;
• The invite does not engage the trades with the project directly, only the project tender process and that engagement to carry out works on the project will be offered and instructed via the successful tendering Main Contractor.

For Suppliers – Your supply of goods/product will be made through the builder and their contractors, however there may be times when the Officer Rec Reserve may purchase directly from you.
