Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

Q. Is the Football Academy considered preseason training or the real footy season?

Q. No, the Parklea Officer Junior Football Academy is an initiative from The Club designed to develop all our players footy skills before preseason commences for the regular football season.  It is held on Sunday’s in February.  Our younger age groups will commence preseason training in March and some older age groups will have already commenced their preseason training.

Q. My child played in 2018 and we have already re-registered for 2019 and have paid a deposit or paid in full.

A. Your child can attend the 2019 Academy sessions.

Q. My child played in 2018 but I have not yet re-registered him/her for 2019

A. Parents can register on line (you will have received an email from The Club), pay the deposit then you child can attend the 2019 Academy sessions.  (Parents can re-register in person 30 mins before the designated Academy session.  Our Registrar will be in attendance with EFT facilities available).

Q My child hasn’t played with Officer before, intends to play in 2019 and would like to attend The Junior Football Academy.

A. Check when you child’s age group Academy session is on and come down 30 minutes before to register in person (will need to bring a copy of a birth certificate) or email Kate at registrar@okjfc.com.au and she will assist you.

Q. Is there any additional cost for our child to attend the Officer Junior Football Academy?

A. No, as long as your child is registered to play with us in 2019 and a deposit is paid there is no additional cost.  It is part of the Officer Kangaroos JFC development program.

Q. What are the Academy Squad Names all about?

A. The players are split into their respective age groups (Under 10, Under 14, etc) to mix with all players within their age group.  For the Academy period, The Club has elected to name those age groups after families that have made significant contributions to developing football in the district with the Officer, Rythdale-Cardinia, Rythdale-Officer-Cardinia (ROC) football clubs.  All the family bio’s can be found here.

Academy Training Shirts

Players who attended the Academy in 2018 (who are now U12’s to U17’s in 2019) must wear their existing Academy shirt.  If it cannot be found or your child has grown out of it, new shirts will be available for $20 or we suggest you touch base with an old team mate that may not be attending this year and source theirs.

Players who will be new to the Academy (Under 8, 9, 10 & 11 plus new to Club registrations) should arrive at least 30-45 minutes before their first Academy training session to collect their training shirt.

More updates will be made here and others on the club’s Facebook page, by email and Team Manager texts.  If you have any questions in the lead up to the session you can contact:
